Hey! You’re invited to join us in a very special celebration…
… and also the unveiling of the most amazing collection of homeschool resources you’ve ever seen. Please stop by, take a look, and say “hi”!

Okay, it’s Baseball week here at homeschoolradioshows.com!
This week, you’ll want to tune in to our special baseball themed programs…
* A great reading of “Casey At The Bat” by Ernest Thayer
* The Centennial of Baseball: A history of the first 100 years of this American pastime
* Big Boy: The Story of Babe Ruth — a great audio biography of one of the greatest players of all time
* Links to vintage Major League Baseball games from the 1930s - 1950s for your listening pleasure
This week’s program…

A Star is What I’m Going to Be!
In this great “homemade” program, written, produced, directed and performed by the Vogrin family of Philadelphia, PA, follow Myra Myra Dimwitty as she seeks to be a “star”… but finds that fame is not all it is cracked up to be!
Some of y’all found a couple of pretty nice gifts waiting for you at the end of our Survey we emailed you about last week.

One of them was a half hour dramatization of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic Little House book, “The Long Winter”! I’m just mentioning this now, because we have another 300 slots open for folks to take our survey, after which it shuts down automatically. So if you want to take 5 minutes of your time to “brainstorm” with us, you will be well rewarded. If the survey is full up by the time you click on this, the link will not work, and there’s nothing we can do about it… so don’t put this off, hear?
In honor of President’s Day…

“PLAIN MR. PRESIDENT”
It is a beautiful April day in 1789, and the four million citizens of the United States of America are preparing for their very first national holiday. These brand new citizens of a brand new nation are lined up along the great “Post Road” from Mount Vernon to New York, gathered in cheerful, excited groups… winding garlands of flowers on bridges and lampposts, toasting the future, and eagerly waiting to see General George Washington pass by in his carriage on his way to be inaugurated the first president of the United States of America.
But amidst all the cheers and rejoicing, only one figure seems glum and thoughtful, with the whole weight of the world resting on his shoulders… and that is Washington himself. A lot can go through a man’s mind as he travels on a date with destiny. Listen to this great story of that first Inaugural Day, as originally presented on The Cavalcade of America, in 1941.

Okay, now THIS is one neat lineup of programs! This week, we present not one, not two, not three, but FOUR great episodes of the terrific 1940s science history program, Adventures in Research… all dealing with man’s fascination with flight, and earliest attempts to fly. From legends and myths to parachutes and balloons and whacked out “flying machines’, these are some great stories, told in delightful 15 minute episodes the whole family can enjoy! Think: ‘unit study’, take advantage of this great resource, and PLEASE tell your homeschooling friends to check this out!

Also this week, we have a moving audio rendition of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address as rendered by Darren Cacy… especially for those of you participating in our memorization contest. Check it out!
