Challenge: Memorize The Gettysburg Address!

As of this writing, we have only 68 remaining copies of our Bonus Audio CD, “266 Words: The Forgotten Story of the Gettysburg Address” available as a free bonus when you purchase our new Four Great Americans collection. Now, we just had one of our customers who had just gotten their CDs email us to say that this particular presentation on the Gettysburg Address (the first thing they listened to in this collection) actually made one of her kids cry. They loved it, and they are playing the actual Address over and over until they know it by heart.
Well, that got us thinking about having a little challenge of our own, so here it is: Why not challenge YOUR kids to memorize that wonderful speech too? It is, after all, only 266 words — but you know, if your kids get it down now, they will likely carry those 266 words with them the rest of their life.
Here’s how to enter:
Tell your kids about this challenge and get them to memorize “The Gettysburg Address”. (Listening to our Audio CD
is one great way to do this, hint hint — but you can participate in this challenge even if you don’t purchase our new collection.) Once your kids do memorize the speech, record their recitation as an .mp3 file. Have them give their name and age, and then fire away. Email that file to us at: homeschoolradioshows@gmail.com or post it on your own webpage and send us a link if you wish. (No cassettes in the mail for this particular contest, please.) In your email, give us your child’s name and age, and the state you live in.
What happens next: In our President’s Day newsletter, we will recognize your child’s achievement by posting their name on our website… and we might even post THEIR version of the speech here! Also, your kids will receive a VERY SPECIAL GIFT from us at homeschoolradioshows.com that they will love. Fair enough? Then get those kids listening and memorizing… and send in those entries! Last day to enter is February 12, 2007. Go!
